Brothers 2026
Brothers, by Dave Williams
Directed by Cindy Parks
Assistant Director Amberly Hadley
Audition Dates: December 8&9, 2026
Performance Dates: February 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 2026
Somewhere in the Sierra Nevadas, three brooding brothers (who have never gotten along) are forced, by the stipulations of their father's last will and testament, to spend thirty-six hours a year together with their father's ashes in a run-down cabin in the woods in the middle of winter.
As Frank explains, "I think Dad enjoyed hearing us scream and beat on each other. It saved him the trouble. In fact, he probably wrote this provision into his will to guarantee that we'd be able to enjoy hating each other long after he was gone. Here's to Dad and his three stooges!"
This year is the tenth--and FINAL--year! If they can just get through the weekend, they can finally claim the promised inheritance!
But with no food and only a plethora of alcohol to tide them over until Sunday, things get a little... interesting.
I mean, what could be better than fights, firearms, expired dogs, lots of scotch, and an Almond Joy?
WARNING: This show contains a lot of spicy language.

MICHAEL LAIN - Frank Conley
Michael is happy returning to the Lake Whitney Arts stage and being joined on it with Rusty (not the dog), Levi, and William. Although, he is rather certain he should have hired a stunt double.
RUSTY COOK - Pete Conley
Rusty is excited to bring Brothers back to life. He has been in numerous productions here at LWA. He would like to thank his fellow cast mates and crew for putting up with him for the last few weeks. Thanks to Cindy for letting him play one more time. He would also like to thank his lovely lady Palmira for letting him miss dinner a few nights a week.
CINDY PARKS - Director
Cindy Parks is devoted theatre nerd. She is a founding member of Lake Whitney Arts and Tin Building Theatre. Cindy has served as director for shows such as THE DIVINERS, FARCE OF HABIT, GREATER TUNA, BLITHE SPIRIT, and many others. She has been seen on stage in over 150 shows, including STEEL MAGNOLIAS, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, WAIT UNTIL DARK, DAVID’S MOTHER, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, and THE MIRACLE WORKER. She would like to thank her wonderful cast and crew for all their hard work.
LEVI KING - Wally Conley
Levi has appeared with Granbury Theatre Company, Greater Cleburne Carnegie Players, Plaza Theatre Company, and LWA, most recently as Ethan in LWA's production of A CHRISTMAS CORAL. Some of his favorite roles include Lt. Lenny Archer in KISS AND TELL, Wadsworth in CLUE, Teen Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL, newsboy in RAGTIME, and ensemble in LES MISERABLES.
WILLIAM ZIMMERMAN - Park Ranger
William is a pastor, teacher, and newly minted court appointed special advocate. BROTHERS is his first acting performance, but he likes to imagine himself a natural thespian at heart. He is a writer, a fall time hunter, and occasionally a very dedicated Dungeons and Dragons dungeon master. He loves life, he loves laughter, he loves his church, and he loves his God.
GEORGE STAPLES - Voice of Dad
George was active in theatre in high school in Edna Texas and in community theatre in Victoria (DEATH OF A SALESMAN) and Lubbock. He has been a city attorney for a number of cities for over 50 years, a job that has kept him away from the stage. Now he has fired all of them and is back. He loves Gilbert and Sullivan and stories which need not be true.
