The original 1982 Off-Broadway version!

Told in the musical style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo‐wop and rhythm and blues, a down‐and out skid row floral assistant who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon “Audrey II” grows into an ill‐tempered, foul‐mouthed, R&B‐singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination!

Little Shop is one of the longest‐running, award winning, Off‐Broadway shows of all time. It has also enjoyed acclaimed Broadway, national touring and international runs. This affectionate spoof of 1950s sci‐fi movies has become a household name, thanks to a highly successful film version (the musical’s ending is different!). Charming, tuneful and hilarious, with tongue firmly planted in cheek, Little Shop of Horrors never fails to entertain.

120x150-ASmith-Feb26Alden Smith assisted in the direction of LWA's presentation of Jones-Hope-Wooten's FARCE OF HABIT, having performed in their HALLELUJAH GIRLS as well as in Stacey Greenawalt's A CHRISTMAS CORAL, all in 2025. In Waco, he played Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT and co-directed/produced several Greek and Roman dramas. He is grateful for the opportunity to play (at least) two characters in LITTLE SHOP.

B.D. (HOSS) SMITH - Mushnik
Hoss SmithThis will be Hoss's first show with Lake Whitney Arts Association. A veteran character actor, and founding member of The Carnegie Players, Theatre Off the Square, and Azle Popcorn Players. We're excited to have Hoss join our troupe. Musical comedy is one of his favorite forms of theatre.

WILL ZIMMERMAN - The Plant (Audrey II)

When he isn't moon-lighting as a man-eating plant, William is a passionate and rather intense individual. His first play production was BROTHERS, and was performed here at Lake Whitney Arts. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is his second play production, and he can barely contain his excitement. When he is not devouring his fellow actors onstage, he's a bit of a writer, something of a reader, and too much of a thinker. He adores his family, his friends, his coworkers, and his God. FEED ME, SEYMOUR!
