This classic comedy opens on a group of the guys assembled for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it's no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed and none too tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean-freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born.

AVAILABLE ROLES*

Murray -- Poker buddy. NYPD policeman
Roy -- Poker buddy. Accountant with a dry wit
Speed -- Poker buddy. Gruff, sarcastic
Vinnie -- Poker buddy. Mild-mannered and henpecked
Gwendolyn Pigeon -- Oscar's giggly upstairs neighbor lives with her sister
Cecily Pigeon -- Gwendolyn's just-as-giggly sister

* Please note that the roles of Felix and Oscar have been precast.

AUDITION INFORMATION

  • At this time, the director does not plan to make sides available. We do, however, encourage you to read the script. A quick Google search will likely yield a link to a pdf version you may read.
  • Please gather a list of ALL schedule conflicts between the audition date and final performance date. This is important. The director will cast the show and create a rehearsal schedule based on provided conflicts. If you are cast, it is your obligation to adhere to the rehearsal schedule once it is set.
  • If you have never auditioned with us, and/or if you have a lot of theatre credits, we encourage you to bring a theatre résumé with you to auditions. We've put together a basic theatre résumé template in Google Docs that you can copy and use as a guide. This is a generic guide only. A résumé is optional for most directors and does not have to look like this!
